Responsibilities include:

• Preparing patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
• Setting up exam and treatment rooms, maintaining and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
• Administering injections and assisting with lab tests and phlebotomy.
• Supporting physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Handling telephone communications and managing referrals.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting, or current Medical Assistant certification.
• Medical Assistants with one year of experience must obtain certification within one year of hire.
• Recent graduates must achieve clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment.
• Active and unrevoked certifications (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NCRMA, or ABR-OE) are preferred.
