Job Description

Executive Assistant

A retired professional on the Upper East Side is seeking a well-seasoned executive assistant to manage a complex professional/home environment. The role is Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, and starts January 15th, 2026. The position is located in a small residential business office, and you will be working in the home with the principal employer. There will also be minimal coordination with one part-time co-worker (bookkeeper) who is on-site at the business office.

The executive assistant and household manager will provide high-level administrative and personal support to the employer, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of both the employer's office and household. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who values discretion, collaboration, and professionalism. The position involves managing correspondence, maintaining calendars, coordinating household logistics, and working closely with staff to ensure the highest level of organization and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Take dictation and assist in composing, editing, and proofreading correspondence and other written materials.
  • Maintain organized hard-copy filing systems, ensuring all materials are current and easy to access.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including desktop printers and Apple/Mac devices.
  • Manage calendars, appointments, and meetings with attention to accuracy and foresight.
  • Anticipate potential scheduling conflicts and adapt plans efficiently.
  • Follow through on all pending projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee the management of one or two households, coordinating with staff to ensure properties are well-maintained and prepared for the employer's visits.
  • Monitor household schedules, maintenance, and supplies.
  • Supervise and support the daily operations of the employer's office.
  • Collaborate closely with the employer and staff to maintain a cohesive and respectful team environment.
  • Reflect the employer's values of professionalism, courtesy, and fairness in all interactions with vendors, coworkers, guests, and family.
  • Exhibit discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in all matters.
Qualifications
  • Experience in private household or executive support roles.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Salary and Benefits
