Controller – Inventory – CPA – C.P.A. – Certified Public Accountant – Director of Accounting

A high growth start up is looking for a Controller to join their team. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting team, compliance, financial reporting, and cash management. To be successful in this role, the Controller must be able to be hands on, big picture-oriented, and able to work in a start up environment. Does this sound like you or someone you know? What do you need for this Controller role?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 20+ years of accounting experience
• Must have people management experience
• MUST be an active CPA
• MUST come from a mid-sized or large company
• Inventory accounting experience will skip you to the front of the line

What will you do in this Controller role?

• Guide and support the accounting team.
• Design, implement, and uphold financial protocols, internal controls, and reporting frameworks to maintain regulatory alignment.
• Oversee the completion of financial closing activities.
• Champion enhancements to ERP and financial systems; spearhead automation efforts.
• Manage liquidity functions.
• Ensure alignment with GAAP and IFRS standards, along with adherence to tax regulations, audit requirements, and compliance obligations.
• Collaborate across departments to refine cost tracking, inventory oversight, and profitability evaluations.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts; generate financial reports and conduct variance reviews.
• Deliver financial insights and presentations to inform business strategy.
• Coordinate financial activities with international production and supplier networks.
• Drive organizational growth.

• the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
