Position Summary:

Provides professional and technical skills to ensure safety, comfort, personal hygiene and the protection of patients in the provision of patient care. Over seen by the assigned RN and/or Clinical Coordinator. Reports to the Manager of MedSurg and Administrative Director.

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit.

• Knowledge of growth and development over the life span.

• Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing.

• CA Certified Nurse assistant.,

• BLS/CPR certification.

• Non-violent crisis intervention/verbal de-escalation course within 3 months of hire.

• Formal nurse assistant course and/or one year nurse assistant experience preferred.

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
